Working in Boise, Idaho the Sejong Korean Youth club is made up of a group of passionate Korean youth working together to create original, diverting events for the community whilst also benefiting those in need through donations. We are committed to doing what we love and feel passionate about; making and giving back to others.

2024 EDITION
We hosted a Winter Coding Camp for students who have completed Algebra 1 and older. Participants were introduced to Java, and had the opportunity to ask questions and learn about careers in computer science with an experienced software engineer. The camp was sponsored by KSEA (Korean-American Scientists and Engineers Association). We proudly donated $650 to the Idaho Foodbank which is able to pay for 1900 meals throughout Idaho.

Our club shared Korean culture by offering a variety of unique and delicious Korean breads. This successful fundraiser raised approximately $1,150, with $710 donated to the Children's Home Society of Idaho, a nonprofit providing mental health services for children and families. The event highlighted our dedication to cultural exchange and community service while supporting vital mental health initiatives.

Several of our club members collaborated with the Treasure Valley Canopy Network in community tree planting events in Boise. We proudly donated approximately $600 to TVCN, funding the planting and growth of one large urban tree and 40 forest seedlings. This contribution was made possible by our previous fundraising efforts. This rewarding experience allowed us to connect with the community and contribute to the sustainable, greener development of Treasure Valley.

Our club members had the privilege of volunteering with the Idaho Foodbank, whose mission to feed, educate, and advocate for Idaho’s hungry resonates deeply with our values. For our summer fundraising event, our club members decided to raise money by selling donkatsu (돈까스), a delicious Korean pork cutlet style that originated in Japan, to the Boise community. Due to the overwhelming positive feedback from our initial pork cutlet sale, we decided to recreate this successful event. This time, we raised an impressive $1,020, which was donated to the Idaho CATCH (Charitable Assistance to the Community’s Homeless) organization.
